Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Forklift Driver, experience with counter-balance and standup/reach forklifts
  • 3 to 5 years experience driving in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this role

Nice To Haves

  • experience with chemicals or dangerous goods is preferred
  • Ability to complete training and master skills that are required by position (including but not limited to Hazardous Material Safety and TDG training)
  • Ability to understand and track safety, quality and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) & Continuous Improvement Systems
  • Strong attention to detail, good communicator and a team member
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of position

Responsibilities

  • Determining needed packaging materials and locating these items.
  • Using forklifting equipment (counterbalance and stand-up/reach) to keep all production locations supplied with packaging and raw materials.
  • Removing finished products from lines and staging areas to maintain production rates.
  • Properly storing pallets of finished goods and restocking partial pallets of leftover raw material and packaging supplies at the end of a production run.
  • Checking raw material, product and package appearance for any inconsistencies from specification. Unusual raw material, product or package appearance should be brought to the attention of the supervisor immediately.
  • Performing daily safety and operational checks on equipment being used and documenting this information. Also documenting any other production and quality data as required.
  • Ensuring that packaged products meet specification and requirements, meaning in a manner that conforms with laws pertaining to transportation of chemicals, meets customer needs, and ensures that the product arrives at the destination intact.
  • Ensuring that all loads moved are securely fastened to the pallet as appropriate.
  • Performing battery changing as necessary to maintain operation of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and wear all required PPEs.
  • Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned by leaders.
