About The Position

Join our team as a Materials Handler! We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual. This position involves both detailed clerical work and the safe operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts. We are looking for a reliable, process-driven individual to be the backbone of our supply chain.

Requirements

Must have a CDL class A or B License (not a permit)
Must be able to obtain and maintain the proper DOT medical certification.
Must be able to pass the Material Handler assessment test.
Has thorough knowledge of local vendors and other sources of supply

Responsibilities

Interpreting parts catalog and ordering parts for all automotive vehicles.
Knowing the location of all material in the stores section for efficient distribution to using sections in the shops.
Checking all incoming items with respect to the amount, description, and type as outlined on the purchase order and dray ticket covering each individual shipment.
Posting on each order the amount received, and seeing that all supporting papers are drawn up to conform to the information shown on the purchase order.
Issuing all materials and supplies.
Performing all routine paperwork, and computer entry-inquiry.
Storing incoming material.
Operating overhead crane.
Crating outgoing shipments.
Altering material bins in the stores section.
Operating forklift tractors, tow tractors and trucks used to haul or move materials, supplies, and units obtained from storerooms and ships, handling emergency freight and express shipments and pickup from local vendors.
Handling proper supporting papers and will be required to load and unload their trucks or assist in such work.
