About The Position

Receives, stores, and distributes products within the warehouse. This role involves reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The Material Handler conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas, sorts and places them on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence. They also pick customer orders from stock, place them on pallets or shelves, or convey them to the packing station or shipping department. Additionally, this role involves marking materials with identifying information, opening crates and containers, coordinating warehouse activities with the warehouse leader and office teams, and cross-training in all facets of the warehouse and potentially other departments. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment through general housekeeping duties and strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, is crucial. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school education.
Forklift Certification
Careful reading skills
Forklift operation skills

Responsibilities

Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Picks customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Opens crates and other containers.
Coordinates warehouse activities with warehouse leader and office teams.
Crosstrains in all facets of the warehouse and potentially other departments.
Completes general housekeeping duties to maintain a continuously safe and clean work environment.
Maintains a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
