About The Position

This role is responsible for various tasks related to material handling in a warehouse environment. The Material Handler will count, measure, and weigh materials, ensure quality control, and prepare items for shipment. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment and maintain a safe and clean workplace. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, and candidates must provide documentation of their eligibility to work in the US.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Enjoy working with hands, enjoys operating at a face pace.
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' work experience in shipping/receiving and warehouse environments.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform the following essential functions regularly: Lift up to 35 lbs., Bend, squat, twist, reach.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment safely (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift (hours may vary) Monday through Friday.
  • Must be able to provide proper documentation of their eligibility to work in the US (I-9 form).

Responsibilities

  • Counts, measures, and weighs various types of materials and products.
  • Removes defective products or materials and places them in specified areas for further disposition.
  • Constructs, lines, and pads cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools.
  • Examines containers, products, and materials for quality control and ensures packing requirements are met.
  • Seals containers or materials using hand tools, fasteners, nails, or glue.
  • Enters packing, order, and product information in or on required forms, records, or other documents.
  • Processes packing slips, shipping labels and custom documentation electronically.
  • Checks incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards.
  • Loads products and materials into package-processing equipment.
  • Reads material pick lists to ensure correct parts and components are pulled to fulfill orders.
  • Organizes stock in the most efficient way using forklifts, pallets, etc.
  • Works well in a team-based environment.
  • Helps maintain a safe, clean workplace that is free from hazards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
