About The Position

This is a 2nd shift position. Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1:20am with OT as required. Training will occur on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks. (5am - 3:20pm Monday - Thursday). The Material Handler will place and retrieve product from appropriately designated areas via forklift and other material handling equipment throughout facilities to ensure that production and customer needs are met. This may involve the receipt of incoming material/product and may include loading and unloading trucks. The role also involves preparing materials for production by identifying needed materials and mixing them to job specifications. This includes measuring, weighing, marking, labeling, counting, blending, tracking, calculating shot weight, recording, inspecting, verifying, packaging, and palletizing a wide variety of products or materials. Additionally, the Material Handler will operate dryers at the correct temperature to prepare raw materials and ensure correct moisture levels, utilizing the moisture analyzer. They will maintain the cleanliness of material handling equipment to prevent material contamination and check forklift and other equipment periodically for proper operation, potentially performing routine maintenance and cleaning. The position is responsible for the quality of work and appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions. The employee will willingly modify their work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6 months of fork truck experience
  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reaching forward, reaching overhead, lifting, carrying, crouching, and bending
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
  • Walk, sit, or stand for up to 10 hours with intermittent breaks
  • Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • See, inspect, handle, and evaluate product quality
  • Read and understand written English language work instructions
  • Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
  • Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-year forklift experience in a warehouse setting
  • Strong Computer, and math skills
