About The Position

The Material Handler – Assembly Support is responsible for ensuring that all materials, parts, and hardware required for machine and subassembly repairs are available, organized, and delivered to the appropriate workstations. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency by proactively supporting assemblers and repair technicians and minimizing downtime due to material shortages. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • 1 + year of experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment.
  • Ability to read, write & understand work orders, part numbers, labels, and basic production documentation.
  • Mathematical skills; ability to use the calculator
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand regularly & frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds as part of the essential responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and stage materials, subassemblies, and hardware at workstations in accordance with production and repair schedules.
  • Pull components from inventory and kits based on work orders, BOMs, or verbal requests from assemblers and repair team.
  • Monitor part and hardware usage at each station and proactively replenish bins and materials to avoid disruptions in workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with sub-assembly, final assembly, and repair teams to support build priorities and respond quickly to part requests.
  • Maintain organization of point-of-use storage (shelves, bins, racks, carts) in the assembly area.
  • Identify and report low stock, missing components, or damaged parts to the Inventory Control team.
  • Assist with basic inventory tracking by logging material movements, part usage, or returns in the inventory system.
  • Participate in cycle counts and audits of stock located in or near the assembly floor.
  • Ensure materials are handled and stored safely, following proper lifting techniques and PPE guidelines.
