About The Position

The Material Handler keeps raw materials supplied to production workers. The role operates pallet or fork trucks safely, performs routine maintenance, supplies materials to production workers, removes empty racks and pallets from workstations, loads and unloads trucks, and stores and books in raw materials. The position is based in a plant or warehouse environment with varying working conditions and exposure to harmful materials such as lead and fiberglass. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and be able and willing to wear a respirator.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to obtain forklift operator certification.
Ability to perform data entry.
Ability to read, understand, and follow operating instructions.
Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to differentiate colors.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilos) on a daily continuous basis; heavier items are handled with a mechanical device or assistance from another employee.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability and willingness to wear a respirator.
Ability and willingness to work overtime.
Ability and willingness to work varying schedules, which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Ability and willingness to operate a forklift.
Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment properly at all times.
