Material Handler (2nd shift)

Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of packaging materials, finished goods, work-in-process materials, and scrap/recycle materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring accurate material flow, inventory control, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Basic inventory and cycle counting knowledge.
- Ability to lift 5–30 lbs consistently.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Move raw materials, parts, work-in-process, and finished goods to designated areas using appropriate equipment and PPE.
- Store and issue packaging materials to support production and shipping requirements.
- Wrap, strap, and prepare skids for safe storage and transportation.
- Move scrap and recyclable materials to appropriate disposal or recycling areas.
- Perform inventory transactions (IC and/or IT) and maintain accurate material tracking within systems.
- Conduct cycle counts of raw materials, parts, and work-in-process inventory as required.
- Report inventory discrepancies promptly to supervision.
- Observe all plant, EHS, and safety rules and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues, including completing daily PIV safety checklist.
- May require the handling of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse in accordance with 5S standards.
- Communicate with supervision regarding safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational challenges.
- Provide support if needed during manpower shortages or high-volume workload periods.
- Perform additional duties or training assignments as directed by leadership.
