About The Position

Industrial Metal Supply (IMS) is seeking a Material Handler for their 2nd shift operations at their new 200,000 sq ft facility in Phoenix, AZ. IMS is a unique metal distributor serving a wide range of clients from manufacturers to hobbyists, with a focus on custom cut metals for industries such as Aerospace, Energy, Semiconductor, Transportation, Construction, Medical Device, and Mining. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the distribution team, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of raw metal materials and finished products.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment
• 1+ year of Forklift Experience (required)
• Read, write, and speak in English
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
• Experience with hand tools and measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers or micrometers is a plus

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to metal-cutting cells.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure product quality and quantity.
• Serve as back-up for other warehouse roles as needed.
• Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product for final distribution.
• Contribute to the orderly operation of the stock and/or materials storage area.
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording inventory locations, and reporting shortages.
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Locate and pack materials for shipping.
