About The Position
Penguin Random House is seeking a Material Handler (Order Processor 3) at its distribution center in Westminster, Maryland. The role processes customer book orders by picking and packing them using a variety of methods, including voice automation. The distribution center ships books to customers around the world. The listed shift is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The posting gives a base rate of $17.20 per hour plus a 12.5% shift differential, stating a total of $19.35 per hour. The role requires basic reading and math skills, physical ability to handle books and other materials, and comfort working on an upper mezzanine level. Background and drug screening are part of the employment process.
Requirements
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift; minimal breaks are provided.
- Ability to climb stairs and comfort working on an upper mezzanine level.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must complete background and drug screening as part of the employment process.
