About The Position

The Dye Operator is a key part of the production process, operating dye machines and overseeing fabric dyeing to meet specifications for color and quality. The role requires attention to detail, accurate documentation, and collaboration with production and other departments to support production targets and product development trials. The position is based at Shawmut Corporation's Park Avenue Technical Center in Burlington, North Carolina, a fabric-finishing facility supporting markets including Automotive, Filtration, Military and Protective, and Health and Safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and understand English to interpret setup sheets and standard operating procedures.
Basic computer skills for data entry and communication.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.

Previous textile process and manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

Operate dye machines to color fabrics according to specifications, following the correct dye formulas and processes.
Monitor and facilitate product development trials throughout the facility.
Maintain accurate records of dye formulas and production logs, completing documentation correctly and on time.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow safety protocols and procedures.
Ensure adherence to engineering requirements during manufacturing.
Document trial performance and communicate findings to the product development team.
Collaborate with planning, production, laboratory, customer service, and shipping departments to ensure clear communication of material and product development information.
