About The Position

Penguin Random House is hiring a Material Handler (Order Processor 3) at its distribution center in Westminster, Maryland. The role involves picking and packing customer book orders using a variety of methods, including voice automation. The distribution center processes and ships approximately 1.2 million books daily. The listed shift is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Background and drug screening are part of the employment process.

Requirements

• Basic reading and math skills.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and regularly lift up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to stand for an entire shift, with minimal breaks.
• Ability to climb stairs and work on an upper mezzanine level.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete background and drug screening as part of the employment process.
