About The Position

Xcel Energy is hiring one or more Material Handlers at its Maple Grove Service Center in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This position is responsible for receiving stock and non-stock materials, unloading carrier trucks, putting materials away in assigned and random locations, and filling orders for field use. The role also stages and tracks materials in a database, loads and unloads delivery trucks, processes shipping paperwork and credits for materials returned from the field, and maintains clean work areas. It uses computer applications and software and requires safe operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment, with consistent attention to safety and company rules.

The starting pay is $28.91 per hour. The scheduled hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Extended hours and responses to after-hours emergencies may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Forklift operator certification is preferred; forklift experience and computer skills are required.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, work inside and outside in dusty environments, and be in good physical condition.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet as necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferably Class A, or ability to obtain one within six months.
• SAP experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of electric and gas materials.

Responsibilities
