Material Handler
About The Position
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products throughout the warehouse and production areas. The Material Handler ensures that all materials are handled safely and accurately, supporting production schedules and minimizing downtime. By maintaining organized inventory and timely order fulfillment, this role directly contributes to the overall productivity and operational success of the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse management systems or barcode scanning technology.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely and follow all safety protocols.
- Operating material handling equipment and using pallet jacks and hand trucks are essential for moving materials efficiently and safely throughout the facility.
- Proficiency in order picking and shipping/receiving ensures accurate fulfillment of production and customer orders, minimizing errors and delays.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and barcode technology enables real-time inventory tracking and improves overall operational accuracy.
- The ability to work overtime demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting production demands during peak periods.

- Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with assembly line support.

Responsibilities
- Load & unload trucks as required
- Create identification labels as required
- Control raw material inventories using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method with computer system
- Supervise blenders to use correct materials and keep work areas clean, as required
- Ensure material is at necessary production points
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking and packing duties accurately to prepare shipments for delivery or production use.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and properly store materials in designated locations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology to track inventory and update records in real time.
- Assist with assembly line support by delivering materials and components as needed to maintain continuous production flow.
- Work overtime as required to meet production deadlines and shipping schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with safety and quality standards.
