About The Position

BlueScope is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other mobile equipment while performing intermediate and complex material-handling activities. The role includes receiving inventory; loading and unloading; and staging and moving raw materials and finished goods within or near a plant, yard, warehouse, or work site. Candidates with experience as well as those eager to learn are welcome. The position supports safe, organized, and high-quality operations. Material Handlers work with a supportive team, contribute to continuous improvement, maintain material inventory and equipment, and help uphold housekeeping and organizational standards such as 5-S practices. Other duties may be assigned, with additional competencies, goals, and performance measurements set at the department level.

Responsibilities

Load and unload raw materials and finished goods onto or from pallets, industrial racks, trailers, trucks, and similar locations.
Transport materials from storage or production areas and place them in designated areas.
Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts.
Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Track material inventory.
Perform machine maintenance.
Support housekeeping and organizational standards, including 5-S practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
