About The Position

The Material Handler works in a fast-paced warehouse environment, handling and organizing products and packaging materials. The role involves building displays and palletized products, sorting damaged goods, operating equipment and tools safely, using a warehouse management system, maintaining work documents, and keeping work areas clean and orderly. The position is scheduled for the day shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Flexible scheduling and possible overtime may be required.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse and packaging operations.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, with possible overtime when needed.
• Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights; carry, lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push, and/or pull.
• Ability to handle or manage tools or equipment.
• Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Material handling certification.
• One year of experience in warehouse and/or packaging operations.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and work to precise accuracy standards within time limits.
• Knowledge of rating information using standards that can be measured or checked.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Empty, fill, sort, organize, and wrap or unwrap product.
• Build displays, folding cartons, and palletized products properly.
• Sort damaged products.
• Safely operate various equipment and tools.
• Use a warehouse management system correctly and maintain appropriate work documents.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
