About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for performing tasks involving the shipping and receiving of food products. This role operates standup forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks in a safe manner. Key responsibilities include accurate and timely selection of customer orders, completing work order sheets, and working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed. The position involves unloading trucks, validating deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and identification of products, and distributing received items. Daily shipments require picking, verifying counts, wrapping or stacking pallets neatly, and marking them for pickup. Loading finished goods onto trailers within specified timeframes and maintaining accurate inventory of finished products and supplies are also crucial. The Material Handler must follow the daily production schedule, achieve specified goals, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintain a clean warehouse environment. Following company and OSHA safety rules is mandatory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must work effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of warehouse and lift trucks experience.
  • 1+ Months related manufacturing or food experience, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, materials, and/or Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Operating standup forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks in a safe manner
  • Accurate and timely selecting of customers’ orders
  • Accurately completing work order sheets.
  • Working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed.
  • Unload trucks and validate deliveries against appropriate documentation and notify supervisor or FSQ of discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
  • Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation and location of shipment.
  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse.
  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
  • Cleaning and maintaining warehouse floor and facilities as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.
