About The Position

Responsible for tending plastic molding machines, such as injection molding or thermoforming, to ensure raw materials are prepared and available to meet production schedule. Assist in the removal and clean up of raw material after production run. Tasks may vary based on assignment. Assist with the preparation of workstations prior to starting production. Study production schedule to determine material and product requirements, movements and deliveries. Move stock to and from staging area/gate area and production areas either manually or using equipment such as forklift. Bring raw material to press locations for color changes and mold changes. Stage materials in dryers several hours before mold changes, reducing downtime. Identify all materials that have been staged for production. Obtain the necessary packaging supplies and components as necessary. Ensure that raw material supplies including concentrates for each workstation scheduled on the shift stay full. Return any unused or not needed material back to staging/gate and assist with workstation clean up. Notify technicians and quarantine any material that is contaminated and/or questionable. Set up grinders to reclaim scrap and oversee the grinding of scrap materials. Move aux. equipment to the machines when needed and away when not needed. Assist in mold set ups when team is loading and unloading molds or fixtures. Move finished product to staging/gate once quality disposition has been completed. On completion of the job, ensure all unused packaging and material is correctly identified and returned to staging/gate. Correctly identify scrap gaylords and move from the work center once the gaylord is full or the job is completed. Lead machine clean-up efforts ensuring that raw materials will not be damaged or contaminated. Properly scan raw material, components, WIP and or finished goods, as required, for movement within the building. Maintain filters, dryers, drying ovens, vacuum stations and grinders. Assist with inventory preparation and counting. Responsible for recordkeeping related to inventory and lot to lot traceability. Perform routine inspection of forklift equipment and notify supervisor/management of needed repairs. Safely use forklifts and other equipment needed for job task. Observe all safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
