About The Position

The Material Handler moves, delivers, and stores raw materials and finished goods in production or warehouse areas and maintains accurate inventories. The role works under the supervision of Huhtamaki management in a manufacturing environment and follows a set schedule that includes regular weekend work. The position uses material-handling equipment and computer systems to move and track materials, documents work, loads and unloads trucks, and conducts material audits. It also supports housekeeping, cleanliness, food safety, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, understand, and comprehend written or oral instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Near/far visual acuity and color vision.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Ability to stand (40%), sit (40%), and occasionally walk (10%).
Ability to twist at the waist, bend or stoop, squat or kneel, and reach at, above, and below shoulder level.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and lift or carry more than 40 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Observe Huhtamaki safety rules and use safe working methods and procedures to avoid injury or property damage.
Move materials through the facility using material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks.
Participate in Continuous Improvement events and teams.
Use a computer to dispense and receive information, including product codes, part numbers, quantities, locations, and comments.
Complete paperwork documenting work performed.
Load and unload trucks.
Conduct material audits.
Perform general housekeeping in production or warehouse departments and maintain cleanliness to AIB standards.
Operate material-handling equipment.
Participate in AIB Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs and provide plant housekeeping support.
Perform other duties as assigned.
