About The Position

The Material Handler I moves glass and/or metal from one position or location to another to expedite products through the plant. Duties include loading and unloading products from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is part of the Production Department. It suits someone with attention to safety, quality, and efficiency, a strong work ethic and reliability, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Prior work experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on a concrete floor for 8–10 hours per day.
• Ability to withstand moderate-to-high noise levels.
• Prior work history in a plant facility subject to the region’s climate conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Perform work as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and use a tape measure effectively.
• Adhere to quality standards provided to internal and external customers.
