About The Position

The Material Handler I moves glass and/or metal from one position or location to another to expedite products through the plant. The role includes loading and unloading products from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, and wood crates. The Material Handler reports to the Production Supervisor and is a member of the Production Department. The position is suited to someone with attention to safety, quality, and efficiency, a strong work ethic and reliability, and problem-solving ability.

Requirements

• Prior work experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around for 8–10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Ability to withstand moderate to high noise levels.
• Prior work history in a plant facility subject to the region’s climate conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, and wood crates.
• Perform work as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic measurements and use a tape measure effectively.
• Adhere to quality standards for internal and external customers.
