About The Position

We are looking for a hard-working Material Handler to pull, bundle, stage, organize, load, and maintain building material orders in a fast-paced yard and warehouse environment. This position is a strong fit for someone who likes physical work, takes pride in keeping things organized, and wants to grow with a team.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and willingness to do physical work.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move heavy or awkward materials, up to 80-100 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and changing conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to follow verbal, written, and digital work instructions.
  • Good communication, dependability, punctuality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work safely around forklifts, trucks, customers, contractors, and moving materials.
  • Willingness to be trained and certified on forklift operation if needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime, early mornings, or occasional scheduled Saturdays when business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a yard, warehouse, building materials, lumber, construction supply, concrete supply, or similar environment.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience pulling orders, staging materials, loading trucks, or assisting customers.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, bundle, stage, and load building material orders accurately and safely.
  • Handle materials such as steel/rebar, lumber, mesh, concrete accessories, fasteners, and jobsite supplies.
  • Use order information and supervisor direction to prepare the correct material, quantity, and product type.
  • Keep multiple orders separated, organized, and easy for drivers or customers to identify.
  • Load company trucks and assist customers or contractors with material loading when appropriate.
  • Operate forklifts, carts, banding tools, saws, and other equipment only when trained and authorized.
  • Keep the yard, warehouse, staging areas, and customer loading areas clean, safe, and professional-looking.
  • Report damaged, missing, low-stock, misplaced, or unsafe material promptly.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, coworkers, customers, and management.
  • Stay productive by helping with cleanup, organization, inventory movement, and team support when orders are not active.
