About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for a variety of stocking, inventory and receiving related activities and performs various manual labor tasks including, but not limited to loading and unloading material, stocking shelves, replenishing supplies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, and completion of training.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and RF Scanning.
  • Communication Skills- Active Listening and Verbal Communication.
  • Ability to ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress, using both hands and feet.
  • Ability to time one’s movement or movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in speed and/or direction of a moving object.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule.
  • Ability to move freight, stock, or other materials weighing up to 70 lbs. to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Visual acuity to examine or inspect material.
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving spools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving freight weighing up to 125 lbs.
  • Sharp vision required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with loading and unloading freight in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Moves product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stacks and stores material in the appropriate areas.
  • Assists in physical inventories.
  • Assists with receiving activities.
  • Performs visual inspection and receipt of all in-coming.
  • Places LRB to all in-coming materials.
  • Delivers or routes materials to designated location using handtruck, forklift, or manually.
  • Physically stocks material into appropriate location.
  • Informs manager of any issues or problems.
  • Maintains a safe and clean receiving area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
