About The Position

The Material Handler at GE Aerospace is responsible for receiving, storing, kitting, packing, and shipping components and finished products while maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts and reconciliation. The role requires using MRP systems (such as Oracle) to process transactions, release kits, and support shipping functions, along with performing routine material transfers and basic equipment maintenance. This hands-on position involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, following safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement through teamwork and training. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use MRP systems.
  • Basic math and counting skills.
  • Experience with kitting, packing, and inventory cycle counts.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to follow safety rules and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing, stockroom, shipping, or receiving experience.
  • Oracle experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or stockroom/shipping function.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience mentoring or training peers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials; prepare and ship finished goods.
  • Pick, kit, bag, tag, pack and release materials to the production floor.
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Use MRP systems (Oracle) to enter transactions, investigate inquiries, and update records.
  • Support shipping operations (including customer/carrier portals) and basic foam packing machine maintenance.
  • Move materials between projects and perform routine deliveries/picks.
  • Maintain source documents and filing to support inventory control.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and provide clear written/oral communication.
  • Train and mentor other team members and participate in self-directed team activities.
  • Keep your workstation, tools, and equipment clean and safe.
