About The Position

Baldwin Richardson Foods is seeking passionate individuals to operate a forklift for loading/unloading trucks and storage racks, retrieve food products, and measure and package raw materials to support the production process. This role is for the 2nd shift, operating from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a $0.75 per hour differential. Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of previous work experience or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Forklift experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Forklift license required (employees will be re-certified through the training process).
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
  • Must be able to stand for a full shift (minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours).
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, at times without aid.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see color, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), heat, and moderate level of noise.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Forklifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures, maintaining awareness of pedestrian traffic, docks, and racking conditions.
  • Performs equipment inspection and documents any deficiencies.
  • Inspects work area and maintains housekeeping to 5S, GMP and Food Safety standards.
  • Receives and transfers interplant product, locates product in staging locations, and moves packaging, raw material, and finished goods to holding locations per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Reports any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected to Supervision.
  • Reports and takes actions required to correct or rework any damaged materials.
  • Participates in internal audit programs and offers suggestions for improved operations.
  • Consults and coordinates with Production Supervisor and Line Leads regarding weekly schedule and cook cards to ensure all materials are provided to production as needed.
  • Utilizes SAP to transact materials (transfers, issues, returns, inventory adjustments).
  • Utilizes stretch wrapper for finished goods, printing and labeling with correct handling unit (HU).
  • Helps maintain case erectors on assigned lines with a steady flow of cases.
  • Ensures material being wrapped meets quality requirements in codes and leaks of product.
  • Files all job-related paperwork in accordance with department procedures.
  • Follows all BRF Safety procedures and GMPs.
  • Reports all incidents/accidents to plant leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs, such as stacking cases.
  • Effectively communicates the needs of production lines to the warehouse team utilizing radios.
  • Supports other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
