About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Material Handler for its Eugene location. Reporting to the Shift Lead, the role focuses on packaging finished pipe in the correct crate quantities and ensuring regular quality checks so customers receive a quality product. The schedule is D Shift: Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday, 6 PM to 6 AM. The stated pay estimate is $18.75 per hour plus a $1.00-per-hour shift differential; placement depends on relevant qualifications and other factors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic math understanding for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Initiative.
• Adaptability to changes, competing demands, delays, and unexpected events, while remaining calm and logical.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Package finished pipe in proper crate quantities.
• Confirm product against the production schedule.
• Assist with quality control, including monitoring saw cuts, pipe length, bell fit, print line confirmation, chamfer/bevel, and reference line spacing.
• Weigh and transport finished product.
• Cut crate boards to proper lengths.
• Process regrind.
• Perform maintenance and cleanup in production and storage areas.
• Follow plant safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time to accomplish assigned work.
• Use material-handling and packaging devices, including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, and nail guns.
