About The Position

ADM is seeking a Material Handler in Bennett, CO. This role involves loading and unloading wet and dry railcars/tanker trucks for distribution to customers. Responsibilities include operating pumps and valves for unloading, performing and documenting quality control checks and sanitation duties, maintaining logs, operating computer systems for data input, and handling hoses. The job also requires coupling and uncoupling trailers, operating landing gear, and safely navigating various elevated structures like catwalks, ladders, and tractor cabs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
  • Perform and document QC checks to ensure all products meet quality specifications.
  • Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
  • Complete and maintain QC logs and forms as specified by S.O.P’s.
  • Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
  • Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection with the ability to detect mechanical defects and notify Supervisor.
  • Operate computer systems to input data and/or other business functions.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of landing legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
  • Ascend and descend tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders and step stools.
