About The Position

This role is responsible for receiving, maintaining, sorting, inspecting, storing, and distributing a wide variety of materials to multiple departments, suppliers, vendors, and customers in a timely and accurate fashion. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate record-keeping, and proficiency in operating material handling equipment and computerized systems. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in inventory management, quality control, and ensuring the smooth workflow of materials within the organization.

  • Ability to regularly stand and walk to perform production tasks.
  • Required to perform repetitive movement while demonstrating proficient hand and eye coordination, hand dexterity and good vision.
  • Continual attention to the accuracy of documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • High School or GED Level of Degree in the general education field of study preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a clean and safe work area.
  • Reads and interprets stage plans, picklists, and SOPs/WIs.
  • Accurately records information on travelers and operates bar coding and computerized equipment.
  • Operates material handling equipment including RF devices, label machines, weight scales, and power equipment like forklifts, pickers, or pallet jacks.
  • Utilizes RF devices to pick material, debox and label material, weight count material, issue material to a work order, and transfer material to manufacturing.
  • Conducts quality inspections for correct part and lot numbers.
  • Follows procedures for accurate transfers, transactions, and labeling.
  • Ensures accuracy of documentation on Sterile Load forms.
  • Performs receiving duties: unloading and loading trailers, entering receiving functions into the MRP system, and putting away inspected material.
  • Participates in Cycle counts and bay audits for inventory management.
  • Performs data entry transactions using the SAP business application system.
  • Performs duties such as cleaning, processing returns, QA transfers, scrapping material, and mixing polymers.
  • Ensures accurate data entry for work order closeouts.
  • Visually inspects product and releases to inventory.
  • Ensures accurate label accountability.
  • Ensures a clean, safe work environment and safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Must be certified on power equipment.
  • Must practice safe lifting techniques.
  • Manages to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Builds quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
