About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team and support the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse and production areas. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials to all departments. While this role may require occasional forklift use, it is not a forklift driver role and involves a wide range of material handling, staging, inventory and warehouse support tasks. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to safely operate a variety of equipment and hand tools.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with warehouse layouts, material flow, loading docks, and storage practices.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control systems and vendor shipment portals (i.e., VSM, WAWF) and ability to accurately complete shipping, receiving, and inventory paperwork.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials regulations (IATA and 49 CFR).
  • Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner.
  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time.
  • Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or must be eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce. A U.S. Person is defined as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or a person who is a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C. 1324(b)(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Able to follow safety practices and meet quality standards of work.
  • Works under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
  • Able to effectively communicate with other functional departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Perform stock picking, cycle counting, and point of use stocking tasks using manual and motorized material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, overhead crane) safely to move, load, unload and stack materials and products as needed.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and integrity of materials handled.
  • Verify shipping and receiving documentation for completeness.
  • Deliver raw materials, components, and supplies to designated workstations or production lines to support manufacturing processes.
  • Stage finished goods for shipment or storage.
  • Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting.
  • Ability to look-up and investigate transaction history to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Documents each receipt (packing slip, bill of lading, etc.) to support computer system entries.
  • Participate in the company’s annual physical inventory, including counting verifying and reconciling materials and inventory records.
  • May participate in lean/six sigma/quality/safety initiatives as required.
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.
