About The Position

As a Material Handler in the Lumber Department at Hartselle Wood Reels, you will move and organize raw materials and finished wood reels throughout the facility. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will work with production, shipping, and inventory teams to ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently. The position pays $21.58 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential and is scheduled for the third shift, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with some overtime.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Excellent attendance is crucial to the team's success.
• A proven record of success in a fast-paced environment is required.
• Ability to collaborate well with different teams and identify discrepancies attentively.
• Analytical and hands-on abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport wood components and finished reels using forklifts and other equipment.
• Collaborate with production team members to facilitate product and material flow and achieve critical line metrics.
• Assist the plant in various areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and department and uphold 5S standards.
• Accurately document quantities loaded or unloaded.
• Execute tasks safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily inspections of material-handling equipment.
