About The Position

As a Material Handler, reporting to the Team Lead, you will help move and organize raw materials and finished wood reels throughout the Hartselle Wood Reels facility. You will work with production, shipping, and inventory teams to ensure materials are delivered efficiently and safely. The position is on third shift, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with some overtime. Pay is $21.58 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations is a plus.
• Excellent attendance is crucial.
• A proven record of success in a fast-paced environment is required.
• Ability to collaborate with different teams and identify discrepancies attentively.
• Analytical and hands-on abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing instructions.
• Must work overtime when necessary.

• Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport wood components and finished reels using forklifts and other equipment.
• Collaborate with production team members to facilitate product and material flow and achieve critical line metrics.
• Assist the plant in various areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and department and uphold 5S standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation of quantities loaded or unloaded.
• Execute all tasks safely and efficiently.
• Conduct a daily inspection of material handling equipment.
