About The Position

South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop that makes parts for semiconductor, medical device, and advanced technology hardware. The Material Handler/Driver counts, cuts, loads, distributes, stores, and organizes materials. During downtime, this role may assist other departments, including shipping and assembly, and may help the production floor load and unload raw or partially processed materials.

The position also performs local pickups and deliveries, supports shipping packaging and identification as time allows, and maintains company vehicles and a log of company-related vehicle travel. The role helps maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment and supports general shop maintenance and cleanup.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic math and writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and fellow employees.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• No DUI convictions or reckless driving in the last four years.
• High school diploma or GED, or proven experience in a similar field.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of previous driving, delivery, and unloading experience is preferred.
• Experience with measurement tools, forklifts, and blueprints is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use CNC saws and other equipment to cut, distribute, store, and organize materials.
• Maintain or exceed job production standards.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment.
• Perform general shop maintenance and cleanup.
• Organize materials, hardware, and fixtures.
• Perform local pickups and deliveries as directed by the Shipping/Receiving Manager.
• Assist the Shipping Department with packaging and identification as time allows.
• Keep company vehicles clean and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a log of all company-related vehicle travel.
• Perform other job-related duties.
• During downtime, assist other departments such as shipping or assembly, and help the production floor load and unload raw or partially processed materials.
