About The Position

The Driver/Material Handler loads and unloads materials within or near a facility, yard, or worksite and uses a Class 6 straight truck or Class 3 truck with trailer to transport and deliver products when needed. Knowledge of the construction industry and concrete services is a plus. The role includes preparing customer orders, assisting with deliveries and returns, and maintaining a clean, orderly warehouse and yard. Darragh is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company that originated in Arkansas and has served building-material professionals since 1906. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, and one to three months of experience, or a combination of education, training, or experience.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Driving experience with a Class 6 straight truck.
• Valid driver's license and DOT Medical Health card.
• Working knowledge of computer software such as email and order-processing systems.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds by hand and up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the construction industry and concrete services.
• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fill customer orders for shipment, reviewing orders to ensure picking accuracy.
• Pull and assemble will-call orders quickly, accurately, courteously, and respectfully.
• Load materials onto pallets or into crates and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Safely assist with loading and unloading products at customer locations and handling returned products.
• Report customer-related problems when possible before leaving the delivery location.
• Keep the branch warehouse and yard clean and orderly.
• Transport and deliver products using a Class 6 straight truck or Class 3 truck with trailer when needed.
