This position is for a 12-hour day shift rotating (7:00AM to 7:00PM). The schedule for Week 1 is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and for Week 2 is Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. The role involves removing, flexing, jogging, and stacking printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process product from the discharge unit of printing press or adhesive coating equipment. Responsibilities include reviewing signatures for defects, removing folded signatures from web presses, and placing them on pallets for warehouse or binding areas. The Material Handler may adjust stacking mechanisms, load and unload materials, and convey materials using hand trucks or electric dollies. They will also count, weigh, and record production data, attach identifying tags, and assemble and band bundles. Additionally, the role may involve operating automated equipment, industrial trucks, or electric hoists, and assisting the Press Crew with make-ready tasks such as retrieving and hanging plates. In-process quality checks for print defects may also be performed.
