About The Position

KDC is hiring a Material Control Coordinator for its Columbus, Ohio facility. The position coordinates forklift operators and material movement for receiving, picking, staging, auditing, and shipping components, finished goods, and parcels. It supports the flow of materials issued to and returned from production, performs inventory reconciliations, and issues production labels in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. The role is responsible for maintaining inventory record accuracy above 98%, coaching and training staff and forklift operators on pallet allocation and location setup, and serving as a resource for SAP transactions and questions. The coordinator operates powered industrial trucks, coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, processes receiving and shipping transactions in SAP and customer inventory portals, and works with internal departments, customers, vendors, and transportation providers to resolve issues and maintain accurate, timely material flow. Work must comply with company safety and environmental policies, quality systems, FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, and applicable OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent highly preferred; in lieu of a diploma or GED, relevant years of experience, knowledge, skills, and fit will be considered.
Prior experience operating powered industrial equipment in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
SAP experience preferred.
Maintain inventory record accuracy above 98%.
Successful completion of a drug and/or alcohol test is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

HazMat certification is a plus.
Prior powered industrial equipment experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
SAP experience.

Responsibilities

Operate powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts, counter-balance lifts, cherry-pickers, turret trucks, and reach trucks, in accordance with company and manufacturer safety and operational requirements.
Coordinate distribution of pick lists to forklift operators according to production and shipping schedules.
Verify production material transfer orders for completeness and accuracy.
Process production material returns in SAP and reconcile materials to ensure accurate inventory balances.
Conduct physical inventory checks for components, labels, and finished goods; identify discrepancies and process corrections as needed.
Issue product labels to process orders and stage label cages for production.
Enter process order information in SAP, label received material, reconcile variances, and coordinate warehouse locations for materials.
Coordinate and schedule inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with local and regional trucking companies; process transactions in customer inventory portals as applicable.
Complete and retain receiving and shipping documentation and records in accordance with applicable SOPs and Work Instructions.
Communicate and coordinate with internal departments, customers, and vendors to resolve issues that could prevent timely and accurate receipts or shipments.
Coordinate high-priority incoming inspections, put-aways, and quarantine releases with internal departments.
Process, audit, and reconcile SAP transactions for receiving raw materials and components and shipping finished goods; use customer inventory portals as applicable.
Execute sales orders in SAP to create finished-goods shipment pick lists.
Monitor workflow and forklift operator progress to ensure timely receipts and shipments.
Audit and confirm raw materials, components, and finished goods before processing SAP transactions or loading outbound shipments.
Schedule outbound shipments of raw materials, components, and finished goods, and process the related SAP and customer-portal transactions.
Coordinate with customer transportation departments and trucking companies to ensure outbound trailers arrive for timely and accurate shipments.
Generate express and ground air bills, packing lists, and freight bills of lading, including for shipments that may contain HazMat.
Receive, prepare, and process inbound and outbound parcels from departments and vendors.
Assist in investigating inventory-related issues.
Follow, promote, and enforce company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Perform work consistently with the company quality system and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, and comply with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations while maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Coach and train staff and forklift operators on pallet allocation and setup, including correct locations and matching pallet and rack labels.
