About The Position

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to balance customer demand, manufacturing & engineering capacity, material availability, and business priorities. This role requires a deep understanding of MRP/ERP material planning, S&OP/SIOP, master scheduling and capacity planning. The Master Scheduler plays a critical part in ensuring on-time delivery, efficient use of resources, and alignment between engineering, supply chain, manufacturing to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, materials management, operations, business administration or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ applicable experience in production planning, master scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient with MRP or ERP systems; MAPICS experience preferred, not required.
  • Proficient with standard business tools including Microsoft Office.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and material flow.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined in follow-up and execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as APICS or CPIM preferred, not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft BI and Microsoft Planner preferred, not required.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or engineered-products environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer orders and contractual commitments, aligned to manufacturing and engineering capacity, and materials availability.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data within ITP, ERP/MRP and/or other planning systems.
  • Translate engineering schedules, bills of materials (BOMs), and routings into executable production plans.
  • Coordinate short- and long-term capacity planning to ensure feasible schedules.
  • Manage schedule changes, priorities, and constraints while minimizing disruption to production.
  • Serve as the primary scheduling liaison between manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, project management and sales.
  • Participate in and may lead the MCR and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) or production planning meetings, maintaining and communicating key milestone due dates.
  • Identify capacity constraints and collaborate on solutions such as overtime, subcontracting, or shared capacity across other Packaging sites.
  • Track and report key metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and lead times.
  • Analyze schedule performance and root causes of delays; recommend corrective actions.
  • May generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making and leadership reviews.
  • May provide daily work instructions for planners, including providing guidance for optimal release sequencing, parts staging and organization set-up.

Benefits

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $78,000-$95,000 per year.
