About The Position

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of aerospace, defense industrial and commercial products. This role involves drawing up master schedules to establish the sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. The Master Scheduler analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data, performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. They schedule workflow for each department and operation, plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations, and prepare reports detailing anticipated production goals. This position also involves performing time studies, communicating with production supervisors and managers on schedule status, developing plans for streamlining processes, converting high-level schedules into detail schedules, material requirements lists, and production plans for work centers, and issuing work instructions to the manufacturing team. The role requires expediting daily work through manufacturing centers in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment, analyzing capacity with management, advising management of production status and potential problems, and coordinating with other internal departments to expedite the movement of parts. Additionally, the Master Scheduler works with Engineering to develop tools and procedures to maximize facility and equipment utilization and identifies methods to ensure products meet Master Schedule requirements, with hands-on shop floor involvement.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of inventory and production control experience or directly related experience.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, procurement, quality basics, engineering flows, and reading prints.
  • Experience with creating production schedules and loading into ERP system in a machining manufacturing environment (aerospace environment required).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience modifying production schedules for increased efficiency.
  • Experience tracking, reporting and presenting status.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with leaders, peers, and others as required.
  • Computer knowledge Microsoft Office including Excel, MS Project (preferred)as well as the Internet Production Scheduling.
  • ERP Systems.
  • Capacity planning, (level loading, kanban, etc...)
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated abilities to organize with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. person per ITAR (22 CPR 120.15).

  • Scheduling or program management experience in a manufacturing aerospace environment is strongly preferred.
