About The Position

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a residential treatment and educational center for youth and their families. The Ranch helps troubled and complex youth by providing unparalleled care, expertise, and presence to help them become their best selves and prevent them from becoming troubled adults. The Ranch is currently accepting applications for the 2027 Spring semester internship opportunities on our Fargo Campus. This internship is unpaid. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional clinical counselor, an intern actively engages with youth, families, and internal and external resources to ensure the needs and goals of the youths are met. The Counseling Intern contributes to the treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team by providing individual, group, and family counseling.

• Champion of organization and technology.
• Senior graduating in the next 1-3 semesters.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including child abuse.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling.
• Actively engage with youth, families, and internal and external resources to ensure the needs and goals of the youths are met.
• Contribute to treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with group therapies at least one evening (6 pm-7 pm) per week.
