About The Position

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a residential treatment and educational center for youth and their families. The Ranch is currently accepting applications for the 2027 Spring semester internship opportunities on our Bismarck Campus. This internship is unpaid. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional clinical counselor, an intern actively engages with youth, families, and internal and external resources to ensure the needs and goals of the youths are met. The Counseling Intern contributes to the treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team by providing individual, group, and family counseling.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a Counseling program.
• Have a passion for helping children and families find success.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Enjoy being a part of a collaborative team.
• Exemplify professionalism.
• Be a champion of organization and technology.
• Be a senior graduating in the next 1-3 semesters.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including child abuse.

Responsibilities

• Actively engages with youth, families, and internal and external resources to ensure the needs and goals of the youths are met.
• Provides individual, group, and family counseling as part of a multidisciplinary team.
