About The Position

The Master Planner leads all planning activities for an assigned workcell, ensuring on-time delivery, production readiness, optimized capacity, inventory control, and accurate revenue forecasting. The role serves as the workcell's planning subject matter expert, drives production schedule execution, manages customer demand requirements, and mentors Production Planners and Document Coordinators to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The position owns the Master Production Schedule (MPS), production planning, Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and document control processes. It coordinates with Workcell and Manufacturing teams and other internal functions, communicates material and capacity constraints, manages material liability and End-of-Life (EOL) planning, and ensures production releases are supported by valid customer demand, sufficient materials, accurate BOMs, and approved routings. The role also complies with applicable safety, health, and company security procedures and may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; OR a master's degree and 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD with no prior experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
Experience in Production Planning, Materials Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, or a related field.
Experience developing and managing Master Production Schedules (MPS).
Experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting customer demand planning and production scheduling.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Management.
Thorough knowledge of MRP and Master Production Scheduling principles.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and inventory management.
Knowledge of component lead times, manufacturing processes, machine programming, and test development activities.
Understanding of the product build lifecycle and the sequence of events required to support production.
Ability to create and maintain production schedules based on customer demand and operational capacity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including evaluating material and capacity constraints and developing mitigation plans.
Knowledge of BOM management and routing structures.
Ability to manage inventory liabilities while maintaining customer service commitments.
Strong forecasting and planning capabilities.
Ability to interpret customer contracts and apply contractual planning requirements.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities; ability to influence and collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
Proficiency with ERP, MRP, planning, and reporting systems.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
U.S. citizenship is required to work at this specific site.

Responsibilities

Ensure 100% on-time delivery performance for assigned customers and programs.
Establish and maintain production build readiness.
Optimize capacity utilization and customer demand sizing.
Maintain accurate revenue forecasting and planning assumptions.
Manage material control activities and minimize material liability exposure.
Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) within Jabil's ERP system, including Purchase Order coverage.
Reconcile the MPS against customer Purchase Order coverage weekly.
Ensure the MPS remains accurate, achievable, and aligned with customer demand, and achieve and maintain a 95% MPS performance goal.
Own production planning, BOM, and document control processes.
Analyze material and capacity requirements and communicate constraints to internal teams and customers.
Maintain and continuously improve capacity planning models to optimize manufacturing resource utilization.
Meet regularly with Workcell and Manufacturing teams to review production schedules, adjust plans, optimize run quantities, and minimize changeovers.
Maintain current customer contracts and ensure planning activities comply with contractual terms and conditions.
Understand and manage customer liability windows related to material purchases, inventory commitments, and production scheduling.
Serve as the workcell planning subject matter expert and ensure products are released to production only with valid customer demand, sufficient materials, accurate BOMs, and approved routings.
Lead the creation and maintenance of BOMs and routings to ensure accurate inventory transactions and work-in-process tracking.
Manage EOL planning, including coordinating cross-functional meetings, developing disposition strategies, and ensuring execution of final build schedules.
Own and manage the Jabil purge process for internal workcell inventory management.
Mentor and support Production Planners and Document Coordinators within the assigned workcell.
Adhere to applicable safety and health rules and regulations.
Comply with procedures within the company security policy.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
