Master Data Management Steward
About The Position
The Vendor Master Data Management (MDM) Steward applies processes and policies for managing and accessing data across the systems landscape and assists with developing systems and processes for sourcing, mastering, and disseminating data across platforms. The MDM team supports consistency, completeness, and accuracy of data attributes based on business and customer requirements, and manages organizational hierarchies, relationships, product groupings, content linkages, and data models. This role focuses on the Procure-to-Pay function of master data management, with vendor onboarding and maintenance responsibilities. The position is based at the client's Parsippany, New Jersey headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule: in-office Monday through Thursday and remote work from the employee's home office on Friday.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (preferred, as stated in the posting).
- SAP S/4HANA experience is a must-have; SAP ECC or S/4HANA experience, primarily Business Partner Management, is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a vendor, supplier, or business data environment.
- Experience with a Master Data Governance tool, such as SAP MDG or Cherry Works.
- Knowledge of vendor onboarding, invoice orders, purchase orders, and source-to-pay.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate time management skills.
- Intermediate organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of computerized data systems and Excel spreadsheets; the role requires heavy use of Excel and Google Sheets.
- Analytical and statistical knowledge.
- MDM, data governance, and data quality acumen.

Responsibilities
- Manage vendor creation and updates across multiple business entities, including documentation validation, duplicate checks, and banking validation.
- Initiate Coupa Link invitations after vendor setup by compiling vendor summaries and contact details.
- Process vendor records in Ariba SLP after receiving new vendor notifications and manage banking verification approvals.
- Call vendors to verify ACH, Wire, and EFT banking details, document correspondence, and update master records.
- Maintain SmartSheet tracking tabs, including vendor call logs for vendors requiring follow-up.
- Manage vendor data approvals and modifications in a SAP master data governance tool.
- Translate business requirements into business rules to support configuration of master data, workflows, and integration processes.
- Develop awareness of data strategy requirements, data governance councils, and the design and maintenance of MDM applications.
- Analyze business processes to help identify root causes of data quality issues.
- Provide data consulting in support of business and departmental objectives.
- Use a systematic approach and help develop MDM process efficiencies.
