About The Position

The Massage Therapist provides professional and personalized massage services to promote relaxation, stress relief, health, and wellness. The role involves using a variety of massage techniques and tailoring treatments to client needs and preferences while delivering an exceptional guest experience in a clean, safe, and welcoming spa environment. The position is based at Poseidon Spa inside the JW Marriott Plant Riverside District and reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program.
• Valid state license and/or certification in massage therapy.
• Proficiency in a range of massage techniques and therapies.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to assess client needs and customize services.
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical work, including bending, lifting, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of hands-on experience is preferred; recent graduates may be considered depending on the role and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and other modalities according to client needs and preferences.
• Consult with clients to understand their wellness goals and tailor treatments accordingly.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and treatment rooms in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Keep accurate records of services provided and client preferences.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner to create a relaxing and respectful environment.
• Recommend additional treatments or wellness products based on client needs.
• Follow appointment schedules and manage time effectively to avoid delays.
• Stay current with industry trends, continuing education, and licensure requirements.
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
