About The Position

The Massage Therapist enhances the Hotel Valley Ho guest experience by providing superior massage and body treatment services and consistently delivering exceptional customer service by anticipating and meeting guest needs. The therapist personalizes services, follows established protocols, maintains treatment-room cleanliness and supplies, communicates with reception hosts, and supports spa and hotel operations. The role is part-time and based at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Requirements

Current Arizona State massage license.
At least 750 hours of certified training and education.
Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and function efficiently in a high-stress or high-pressure work environment.
Experience in hospitality and customer service.
Professional, flexible, and positive attitude.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to sit and/or stand continuously to perform essential job functions.
Ability to extend arms, bend, and stoop to reach materials.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of guests’ needs.
Adherence to occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when required.

Nice To Haves

Training or knowledge in aromatherapy theory or philosophy.
Hotel or resort spa experience.

Responsibilities

Promote a warm, relaxed atmosphere for guests and residents.
Personalize massage and body treatments to accommodate each guest’s or resident’s needs, interacting appropriately through conversation or a quiet presence.
Address guests by name whenever encountered.
Follow established protocols to provide consistent, excellent service.
Arrive and clock in at least 15 minutes before the shift and clock out no later than 15 minutes after it ends unless management directs otherwise.
Know and accurately describe and sell services and products offered at VH Spa.
Educate guests about Hotel Valley Ho activities and facilities.
Provide a product prescription sheet for all body treatments.
Keep the treatment room clean, organized, and stocked, and assist with cleanliness throughout VH Spa.
Complete opening and closing responsibilities listed on the massage therapist and room checklist.
Communicate with reception hosts about treatment-room activity and provide accurate information about treatment types and durations.
Review daily bookings and guest notes for errors, double bookings, allergies, and special requests.
Assist hotel guests and residents with rescheduling, canceling, or making bookings.
Complete training in shiatsu and body treatments within the first 90 days.
Provide assistance throughout the hotel and spa when necessary.
Collect guests on time, perform the full service, and return on time so appointments run as scheduled.
Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Service Provider or another spa manager.
