About The Position

The Massage Therapist enhances the Hotel Valley Ho guest experience by providing superior massage and body treatment services and consistently delivering exceptional customer service. The role personalizes treatments to guests’ and residents’ needs, follows established service protocols, maintains treatment rooms and spa areas, and coordinates with reception hosts to keep appointments running smoothly. The therapist also provides information about spa services, products, hotel activities, and facilities, and assists with guest bookings and other hotel or spa duties as needed.

Requirements

Current Arizona State massage license.
At least 750 hours of certified training and education.
Experience with hospitality and customer service.
Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and work efficiently in a high-stress or high-pressure environment.
Professional, flexible, and positive attitude.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to sit and/or stand continuously to perform essential job functions.
Ability to extend arms, bend, and stoop to reach materials.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of guests’ needs.
Adherence to occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when required.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, using an appropriate combination of skills and abilities.

Nice To Haves

Training or knowledge in aromatherapy theory and philosophy.
Hotel or resort spa experience.

Responsibilities

Create a warm, relaxed feeling for guests and residents.
Personalize each massage and body treatment to accommodate individual guest and resident needs.
Interact appropriately with guests and members, whether through conversation or a quiet presence, and address guests by name.
Follow established protocols to provide consistent, excellent service.
Arrive and clock in at least 15 minutes before the shift; clock out no later than 15 minutes after the shift unless management directs otherwise.
Accurately describe and sell services and products offered at VH Spa.
Educate guests about Hotel Valley Ho activities and facilities.
Provide a product prescription sheet for all body treatments.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and supplies in the treatment room, and assist with cleanliness throughout VH Spa.
Complete opening and closing duties listed on the massage therapist and room checklists.
Communicate with reception hosts about treatment-room activity and provide accurate details about treatment type and length.
Review daily bookings and guest notes for errors, double bookings, allergies, and special requests.
Assist hotel guests and residents with rescheduling, canceling, or making bookings.
Successfully complete training in shiatsu and body treatment(s) within the first 90 days.
Provide assistance throughout the hotel and spa when necessary.
Pick up guests on time, perform the full service, and return them on time so appointments remain on schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Service Provider or another spa manager.
