About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to join its Spa team and contribute to guest-focused service at its luxury Five-Star, Five-Diamond property on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The role provides massage therapy and bodywork, supports efficient Spa Desk operations and handovers, and collaborates with other departments to create a guest-centric experience. The therapist is expected to maintain Peninsula performance standards, act within their professional scope and applicable laws, protect client privacy and well-being, and follow company safety requirements. Applicants must have U.S. work authorization. The pay rate is $12.73 per hour, plus commission and tips.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of massage therapy experience; experience in a luxury property is ideal.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proper licensing and qualification to perform the specific types of massage offered.
• Ability to manage high work demand and pressure, with strong organizational skills.
• Positive, courteous, service-oriented, cooperative, hospitable, sensitive, and professional conduct with internal and external clients.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Provide academic, theoretical, and practical knowledge of the muscular and skeletal systems in the practice of massage therapy.
• Provide high-quality massage therapy and bodywork to clients seeking professional service.
• Assess personal strengths, limitations, and effectiveness through ongoing education and training.
• Conduct professional activities within the scope of practice and applicable law, while maintaining a professional image.
• Take responsibility for avoiding harm to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of oneself, clients, and associates.
• Comply with company safety rules and use required safety devices and personal protective equipment.
• Perform consistently in accordance with Peninsula standards.
• Communicate with all departments to create a guest-centric experience.
• Carry out Spa Desk responsibilities efficiently and provide an effective handover.
• Respect the confidential nature of the client relationship and each client's right to privacy.
