About The Position

Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets, and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. The company is seeking a Marketing Representative in Ewing, New Jersey. This position qualifies leads and solicits business through agents, wholesalers, brokers, and direct channels. The representative develops agency relationships, arranges qualified appointments, makes in-person cold calls, explains insurance policy features and coverage options, and submits qualified business to an underwriter for quotation in accordance with the Code of Business Conduct. The role also maintains regular communication with and visits Preferred and Firemarked Agents.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Current Property and Casualty license.
At least one year of previous experience selling commercial insurance with a carrier or agency.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, growing environment.

Nice To Haves

Two to four years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop new Preferred Agency and Firemarked Agency relationships.
Solicit business using the in-house software system and its preloaded leads.
Develop a fixed number of planned and qualified appointments each week.
Conduct in-person cold calls weekly.
Explain policy features and merits, and recommend coverage amounts and types based on an analysis of prospects’ circumstances.
Develop referrals from each qualified appointment.
Submit complete, qualified submissions to an underwriter for processing and quotation, following the Code of Business Conduct.
Maintain communication with and visit each Preferred or Firemarked Agent at least once per quarter.
