About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, this position is responsible to establish and maintain a harmonious working relationship with direct supervisors, seniors in the community, health plan representatives, employer groups, brokers, providers, and their staff for Bakersfield Family Medical Group (BFMG) and/or Coastal Communities Physician Network (CCPN). The Marketing Rep/Account Manager will maintain current knowledge of enrollment, justification for changes in enrollment and current knowledge of benefits and changes involving HMO plans and health care trends, and network changes (with a concentration in Kern County and/or the San Luis Obispo County markets).

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience with extensive public contact and/or public speaking is preferred. One (1) year of public contact or sales experience may be substituted for one (1) year of college.
  • Experience in health care, preferable with Medicare, preferred.
  • Insurance license, Accident & Health or Sickness, preferred.
  • Proficient with computer programs.
  • Experience in working with seniors (65+).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License and current vehicle insurance.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Able to work as a team player and independently.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and demonstrate superior knowledge/ability of HMO benefits and procedures, BFMG and/or CCPN’s protocols and procedures, familiarity of backgrounds of medical staff at BFMG and/or CCPN and the IPA network, presenting philosophy and protocols of BFMG and/or CCPN to existing and prospective clients in a positive and persuasive manner, and knowledge of services/physicians of competitor medical groups in Kern County and/or the San Luis Obispo County area.
  • Develop and sustain positive working relationships, current contact information, available to assist with member issues, and distribute marketing materials to health plan representatives, community leaders, organizations, and entities, employer groups and initiate visits with their key personnel.
  • Attend, organize and/or facilitate marketing events, including but not limited to: Broker events, Monthly Senior activities, Taco Tuesday & Tours, Senior Expo, Medicare 101s, In-house Health Benefit meetings, Open enrollment events to provide information regarding physicians and services available through BFMG and/or CCPN and associated facilities, and Networking at public/social functions on behalf of BFMG and/or CCPN.
  • Keep Administration informed of all complaints/criticisms directly affecting the positive image of BFMG and/or CCPN and associated facilities, and changes to the health plans enrollment activity and any other information directly affecting needs of employer groups on a monthly and as needed basis.
  • Assist all members and potential members, with information on insurance plans, special events for clients, resolutions regarding client concerns, in a manner that enhances the good reputation of BFMG and/or CCPN, develop and maintain productive client contacts, and provide consultative services to clients as appropriate to the needs and interest of the clients and BFMG and/or CCPN.
  • Work effectively with the marketing department to promote lines of business, clinics, contracts, and business practices in the community, assist in developing working Marketing plan and yearly advertising budget, place all market specific advertising with appropriate media vendors, develop and/or improve ways to retain and grow membership at BFMG and/or CCPN, assist in the development and preparation of various corporate and/or health plan required reports, which may include network analysis, assist the Marketing Rep/Account Manager at BFMG or CCPN, respectively, when needed or when time allows, and maintain, and order as appropriate, promotional material inventory and department stock.
  • Work as both provider advocate and plan representative by developing and facilitating heath care delivery network, resolve issues, and provide continued support for providers and staff, answering provider questions, identifying, and evaluating problems and communicating resolutions in a timely manner, conducting group or individual provider orientation or follow up sessions with both prospective and existing provider groups, assisting with periodic provider satisfaction surveys, possessing and demonstrating a full understanding of various provider contracts, maintained by BFMG and/or CCPN, being responsible for the maintenance and the documentation of all provider contacts in provider files, and assisting with analysis of reports to monitor provider activity and identify potential issues, i.e., UM denials or claim denial trends. This may include assisting with developing and implementing necessary action plans to address issues.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing activity of HMO enrollment activity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with clients, members, providers, and staff.
  • Help facilitate updates to the internet site for BFMG and/or CCPN, within 48-hours of provider addition or termination of provider, group, or service.
  • Prioritize workload; providing a high level of customer service when on the phone and in person, and the use of time management skills to accomplish all job duties in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Willing to work at any company location or department, depending on business needs (if driving for the company then employee must provide current CDL and Auto Insurance).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $33.02 and $38.85. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
