About The Position

Hearst California Media is seeking a Marketing Performance Manager to support ongoing performance analysis, optimization recommendations and reporting for agency-level clients. This includes attribution tracking, paid media oversight, email production, and client-facing marketing insights. This role is responsible for turning data from sales, web analytics, paid media, email, membership, and attribution platforms into detailed analytics, problem solving, KPI optimization strategies, clear recommendations, accurate timely reports and polished executive-facing materials. This person must be an integrated team member with the ability to monitor internal team member performance, forge strong partnerships to influence perception and generate desired actions and results. They must also have the ability to serve as a consultative post-sale partner, helping clients understand results, the reason to act on recommendations, and build a strong foundation for retention and account growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working across multiple marketing data sources, and able to explain performance trends in a way that helps stakeholders make informed budget, channel, creative, and campaign decisions.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in marketing analytics, digital marketing reporting, performance marketing, revenue operations, media analytics, or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing paid search, programmatic, paid social, email, web analytics, campaign, revenue, and conversion data.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, workbook maintenance, data validation, cross-tab consolidation, and error checking.
  • Experience with GA4 and HubSpot, plus familiarity with marketing reporting or media platforms such as TapClicks, Trade Desk, attribution, paid search and paid social platforms.
  • Ability to translate performance data into clear insights, executive summaries, recommendations, slides, one-sheeters, and stakeholder-ready narratives.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing metrics, including impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, conversions, purchases, CPA, ROAS, revenue, attribution, budget pacing, and goal-versus-actual performance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and comfort reconciling data across multiple reports, workbooks, platforms, and stakeholder-provided source files.
  • Strong communication, organization, deadline management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor degree in marketing, analytics, business, communications, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an agency level client base and associated expectations for client service, analysis, recommendations, communication and reporting.
  • Experience with B2B, legal centric, membership based and a professional services/product environment.
  • Experience with sales matchback reporting, order-level attribution, marketing-source reconciliation, or revenue attribution across multiple platforms.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager, pixels, conversion events, cookie-consent impacts, and marketing tracking QA.
  • Experience building polished client-facing presentations or reports in PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides, or similar tools.
  • Experience coordinating approval workflows involving internal teams, clients, legal reviewers, vendors, and channel specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Own the analysis of multi-channel performance, identifying trends and areas of optimization to support the achievement of agreed upon KPIs. This includes analyzing revenue, sales, membership, product, webinar, training, and campaign performance across paid search, programmatic, paid social, email, GA4, and other active channels, making recommendations to improve performance and monitoring implementation and results to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage internal team, vendor and client relationships to foster continuous communication, common understanding and movement to improve performance and results. Ensure timely, strategic and thoughtful communication to enhance receptivity.
  • Support HubSpot email production and QA
  • Own and prepare client and leadership-ready materials

Benefits

  • Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in California. The reasonable estimate is between $40,000 and $65,000. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
