About The Position

The Marketing/Business Development Manager for the Pacific Northwest (PNW) works directly with the Area Manager and the Deputy Area Managers and is responsible for managing and leading the overall development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies for Vanir’s PNW area. This position is a hybrid role based in Vanir’s Renton, WA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing and/or business development experience within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and coaching others.
  • Thorough understanding of the proposal lifecycle and pursuit process.
  • Advanced proficiency in formatting, editing, proofreading, and document production.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Cosential or similar CRM software required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Creative, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the overall development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies for the PNW area.
  • Work with Project Directors and Project Managers to ensure development of capture plans and strategies are in place and being followed.
  • Drive, track, and document strategy sessions for client-focused (Pre-Sell) engagements.
  • Lead and coordinate proposal and interview strategies and content.
  • Coordinate and lead the final production of all marketing deliverables, including qualifications, proposals, and presentations.
  • Write and edit non-technical sections of proposals and presentations.
  • Perform quality control on proposals and other marketing materials.
  • Refine the proposal production process to improve efficiency and quality control.
  • Research, input data, and help maintain the department database.
  • Conduct post-award debriefings with prospects regardless of outcome, and revise qualifications and proposal strategies as appropriate.
  • Responsible for quality control of marketing activities and deliverables.
  • Develop, evaluate, and report progress of the annual marketing plan, including specific goals, strategies, action plans, and schedules.
  • Communicate corporate marketing strategies with the PNW team.
  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of accurate and complete office-generated marketing data in the corporate marketing information systems, including Deltek, Office 365, and other in-house developed software.
  • Direct and assist in research of markets and clients, sharing relevant information with other offices and colleagues.
