About The Position

The purpose of this role is to enhance our relationship with our customers, engage their interest, and establish their confidence in the Sable Systems International (SSI) company brand, enlarging our market share and shortening the sales cycle. This person will systematically research market characteristics, document the voice-of-the-customer, and prepare promotional communications that resonate with the market need, size, direction, and compelling interests. The Marketing Director will collaborate with the Sable Sales and Support Teams to create tools for the education of high-value customers. Responsibilities include planning and development of all marketing media communications, event and presentation planning, and public relations activities, both internal and external to the company. The Marketing Manager implements SSI’s marketing and business development strategies established by the company’s Executive management. This includes the creation of marketing/sales support documentation as well as management oversight of the SSI website.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of marketing-related business practices, including advertising, market research, technology, and budgeting.
  • Ability to collect market intelligence to inform the product development process.

  • Practiced and proven in establishing standards of professional excellence in written and verbal products.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Strong organizational discipline of self and others to simplify and manage complexity.
  • Ability to incorporate search engine optimization into digital marketing initiatives
  • Ability to manage online marketing such as Google Ads.
  • Ability to promote the Sable brand on social media platforms.
  • Skilled in the principles and implementation of Content Marketing.
  • Skilled in the use of AI platforms.
  • Competent public speaking ability.
  • Competent technical writer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial marketing experience required, preferably someone with manufacturing experience related to analytical instrumentation or medical devices.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or management role with direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven product launch experience and strong sales alignment.
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, business-minded approach.
  • Comfortable with marketing tech, digital campaigns, and analytics.
  • Both B2C and B2B marketing experience is desired.
  • Experience in the management of social media and social networking.
  • Experience in management, including team-building processes, delegation and accountability, and product conflict management.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Office, and PowerPoint required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dealer/distributor models (not DTC) is a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred. Other CRM experiences are acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the company's purpose and strategy through marketing of our products and services, aligned with our company values.
  • Establish effective working relationships with sales team members and distributors to enable their sales and marketing efforts.
  • Execution and Project Management of all internal and external marketing projects.
  • Create, update, and Archive all marketing assets of the company, including presentations, brochures, product sheets, fact sheets, case studies, white papers, website content, newsletters, signage, ads, and sales tools, with input from Sales, Support, Research, and Development as per our Quality Management System.
  • Strengthening Brand clarity, Brand visibility, and communication of the Brand Promise within the company and strategically directed to its markets.
  • Serves and supports the company to enhance the company’s reputation as true to its brand promises.
  • Inform our Product Development Process by providing market intelligence and competitive landscape, which includes market research, customer and industry profiling, ROI evaluation, and product pricing.
  • Serves as the champion for the voice-of-the-customer in the Product Development Process.
  • Accountable for managing the Marketing Phase of the Product Development Process.
  • Effectively identifies and utilizes the company’s innovative technological differentiators to the company’s advantage.
  • Identifies new markets and prospects to expand the company’s market share.
  • Conducts and documents market research on competitive services and firms.
  • Plans, organizes, executes, and manages events including tradeshows, customer events, industry events, and sales training sessions.
  • Participates with sales, support, and research staff in the execution of SSI customer education classes.
  • Establish design standards for the appearance of all Sable internal and external print or electronic materials with particular attention to customer-facing communications.
  • Manage the SSI company website’s administrative and service providers to improve SEO metrics, appeal, and access to the customer as measured by lead conversions to opportunities and sales orders.
  • Create and deliver internal reports, using metrics to evaluate, select, and manage effective media and marketing campaigns.
  • Provide input to the CEO and COO regarding the implementation of CRM or ERP products or processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the talent and resources of the external “Sable Team” of independent contractors for any of the above duties.
  • Manage the Marketing budget with strict adherence to expenditure guidelines.
  • Develop and present compelling and technically simplified presentations in support of company sales efforts.
